Hilton Debuts First Waldorf Astoria Hilton Hotels And Resorts Properties New Delhi
Hospitality giant Hilton has recently announced the addition of two new hotels to its portfolio in partnership with GMR Group-led Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL). The two properties, located in GMR Aerocity in New Delhi, will be the first in the National Capital Region of India to carry the renowned Waldorf Astoria and Hilton Hotels and Resorts brands. This expansion adds to the group’s existing four hotel properties in the region, all operating under different brand names.
The first property to be developed is the luxurious Waldorf Astoria, which will feature 150 guest rooms, signature dining options, spacious event facilities and indulgent wellness amenities. Joining the lineup is the 350-room Hilton at GMR Aerocity, designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers.
Hilton’s President and CEO Chris Nassetta expressed the company’s commitment to India and its growth plans for the region, stating, “The signing of a Waldorf Astoria and Hilton in Delhi Aerocity with our partners at GMR-led DIAL underscores Hilton’s long-term dedication to India. This marks a significant milestone in our expansion in the region and solidifies our role in shaping the future of the Indian hospitality market.”
Kiran Kumar Grandhi, Corporate Chairman of GMR Group, also highlighted their commitment to bringing world-class global brands to GMR Aerocity and their aligned vision with Hilton in maintaining global standards. “Partnering with Hilton to introduce Waldorf Astoria and Hilton to GMR Aerocity reflects our continued efforts to develop GMR Aerocity as a strategic destination.”
The signing of these two properties is in line with Hilton’s goal to expand its luxury portfolio in the Asia Pacific region to a total of 150 hotels in the coming years. Furthermore, the company plans to introduce the Waldorf Astoria brand to other key cities including Jaipur, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Shanghai, Tokyo, Xi’an, and Hanoi.
