Co Living Brand Coliwoo Launches New Mixed Use Project Old Bukit Timah Fire Station

Homegrown co-living brand Coliwoo, a subsidiary of LHN real estate management services group, is set to unveil its newest property next month at the historic Old Bukit Timah Fire Station. This State-owned heritage property has been transformed into a mixed-use development featuring a 62-unit co-living residence, a café and restaurant, and community event spaces. The property is situated near Hume MRT Station on the Downtown Line.

Leveraging their expertise in space optimisation and building restoration, Coliwoo, under the direction of executive chairman Kelvin Lim, has reimagined the fire station into a unique destination that seamlessly combines co-living, lifestyle, and community into a holistic ecosystem.

The co-living residence offers three types of ensuite rooms: single, twin, and queen studios. Each unit boasts in-room amenities like a fully equipped kitchenette and a washer-cum-dryer. The interiors are designed with warm, nature-inspired tones and botanical motifs, reflecting the property’s proximity to green spaces such as the 24km Rail Corridor, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, and Singapore’s 36km Coast-to-Coast Central Trail.

Residents will have access to common facilities like a community garden, co-working space, lounge, and outdoor area. Coliwoo also plans to organise regular member-exclusive events at the new location that will be open to all residents in its network.

The average monthly rental rate starts at $3,500, with a minimum stay of six nights for the serviced apartment.

The decentralisation of activities is a key aspect of the URA Master Plan, aimed at bringing more jobs and amenities within close proximity to homes. In line with this, Sembawang is focusing on the development of regional centres and commercial nodes in the North Region, with a particular emphasis on the nearby Woodlands Regional Centre. This bustling economic hub is set to become the largest in the North, providing ample employment opportunities across various industries such as business services, technology, and logistics. Residents of Sembawang Road EC will benefit greatly from this development as it brings job opportunities closer to home, reducing the need for long commutes to the Central Business District and promoting a better work-life balance. In fact, with the convenient accessibility of Sembawang EC at Canberra MRTSembawang Road EC to this regional centre, residents can enjoy the best of both worlds – thriving employment opportunities and a peaceful residential environment.

In addition to providing a comfortable living space, Coliwoo Bukit Timah Fire Station will also be a lifestyle destination along the Rail Corridor. The nearest entry point is along Hindhede Walk, and the property will be pet-friendly with designated child-friendly zones. Apart from the co-living residence, the property will also feature a mix of urban farming, beer brewing, a swimming school, and experiential retail. Confirmed tenants include ST. Ali by Surrey Hills Group and aquaDucks, a swim school.

According to Lim, their vision goes beyond creating a place to stay. They aim to build a sustainable and vibrant community where people can come together, grow, and experience a new way of conscious living that is rooted in purpose and connected to nature.
