On October 27, Helen Chow, the wife of Wing Tai’s chairman Cheng Wai Keung, acquired an additional 60,000 shares in the company. The exact amount of the purchase was not disclosed. As a result, Mrs. Chow now holds a total of 473,845,859 voting shares in the company, which accounts for 62.03% of the total number of ordinary voting shares.
On the same day, shares in Wing Tai closed at $1.48, representing a 1.37% increase or a 2 cent rise from the previous day’s closing price. This news comes after a recent announcement that Wing Tai’s earnings for FY2023 had dropped by 91% to $13.3 million.
Furthermore, Wing Tai successfully sold 23% of its LakeGarden Residences at an average price of $2,120 per square foot over the launch weekend. The preview attracted approximately 1,800 groups of interested buyers over the course of two weekends.
