Momentus Hotel Alexandra Wins Best Upscale Hotel Award Its Eco Conscious Reinvention
Momentus Hotel Alexandra, the flagship property of Momentus Hotels & Resorts, is located on the prominent corner of Alexandra Road and Jalan Bukit Merah. Originally opened in July 2015, the 442-room hotel underwent a $15 million refurbishment and was rebranded in August 2022. The hotel officially reopened to guests on March 1, 2023.
Situated within the mixed-use development Alexandra Central by SingHaiyi, the hotel has its own dedicated drop-off, entrance, and lobby on the first level. The guestrooms, located on the seventh to 19th floors, offer stunning views of the surrounding cityscape.
Designed by DP Architects, the 19-storey complex features a modern and clean façade in neutral tones. A vertical green wall at the entrance adds to the lush streetscape along Alexandra Road. The hotel is committed to sustainability and has incorporated eco-friendly practices throughout its refurbishment.
KKS International led the interior redesign, incorporating energy-efficient features such as smart digital thermostats, filtration taps for direct drinking water, and biodegradable materials for dry bathroom amenities. The hotel has also implemented improvements in facility and resource management, water and energy efficiency, and food and waste management.
The interior of the hotel boasts a modern and nature-inspired aesthetic, prioritizing comfort and a sense of calm. The hotel offers a variety of room categories, including Superior, Deluxe, Premier, Momentum Club, and Executive Suites, with sizes ranging from 258 sq ft to 517 sq ft. There are also meeting rooms and event venues for business travellers.
On the seventh-floor lifestyle deck, guests can relax at the 25m infinity pool while taking in panoramic sunset views. The space is anchored by the newly rebranded Verandah Pool Bar & Grill and Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie by Social F+B by Design, which features a swim-up bar. The topmost level of the hotel, the 19th floor, is home to the Momentum Club Lounge, which offers uninterrupted views of the city skyline and privacy for discerning guests.
At the recent EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards (EPEA) 2025, Momentus Hotel Alexandra was awarded the Best Upscale Hotel category. The hotel’s team aimed to create a sustainable and aesthetically appealing hotel that offers meaningful guest experiences. This award recognizes their success in achieving this goal.
In the coming years, Singapore’s groundbreaking NSC (North-South Corridor) will serve as the nation’s premier integrated transportation corridor. It will include designated bus lanes, cycling paths, and pedestrian walkways, running parallel to regular vehicle lanes. According to the general manager, Felix Wong, the guest mix is roughly 60% business travelers and 40% leisure guests. The hotel is adjacent to Alexandra Central Mall and Ikea Alexandra, and only a four-minute drive from Queenstown and Redhill MRT stations.
